Project overview
Lift was a freelance conceptual project focused on designing a community-based ride-sharing application from the ground up. The concept aimed to connect people already planning to travel with others heading in the same direction, making everyday journeys more convenient, cost-effective, and sustainable. The project covered the entire product design process, from defining the business concept and user experience to designing a complete mobile application.

My role
End-to-end product design, from business strategy and user flows to interface design and interactive prototypes. I transformed an initial concept into a complete mobile application.

Research & analysis

Research & analysis

As the project started from a blank slate, the initial phase focused on defining both the business concept and the product strategy before moving into interface design. The research explored how a community-based ride-sharing service could operate, identifying the value proposition for both drivers and passengers while considering user trust, safety, and long-term sustainability. Different monetization approaches, booking scenarios, and user flows were evaluated to establish a viable business model alongside a seamless user experience.

To better understand the competitive landscape, existing mobility and ride-sharing services were analyzed, revealing common interaction patterns, strengths, and opportunities for differentiation. These insights helped define the core functionality of the application and informed the overall product structure, ensuring that business objectives and user needs evolved together throughout the project.

Design process & final outcome

Design process & final outcome

Throughout the design process, the interface was refined to create a simple, intuitive experience that balanced the needs of both drivers and passengers while remaining aligned with the underlying business model.

Although the concept was fully developed, the application was ultimately not launched. As a community-based platform, its success depended on reaching a critical mass of active users from the outset, making the business challenging to establish. Nevertheless, the project resulted in a well-defined product concept.
